Barcelona's hero Lamine Yamal discusses the "important" distinction between Xavi and Hansi Flick as La Liga leaders defeat Girona to keep their unbeaten start.
After making an impressive performance for Barcelona against Girona, Lamine Yamal discussed the "key" distinction between Xavi and Hansi Flick.
What Happened ?
With a brace from Lamine Yamal and goals from Dani Olmo and Pedri, Barcelona defeated Girona 4-1 on Sunday to extend their winning streak to five games in La Liga. With three goals and four assists so far this season for the Catalan giants, Yamal—who had a fantastic performance with Spain at Euro 2024—keeps turning heads.
Following his breakout season for the Blaugrana, the 17-year-old discussed how the German coach Hansi Flick's methods differ significantly from those of his former boss Xavi and how it has changed the team. Under Xavi's guidance last season, Yamal became well-known and played in 50 games in all competitions, contributing nine assists and seven goals.
What Lamine Yamal Said
After the match, the attacker said to Barca One, "We played really well today, but it's always tough to come back from the national team. We're already planning for the upcoming game. Being direct has proven to be crucial. After we heal, our main concern is scoring."

Flick's men have scored 17 goals in their first five league games which is Barca's best start since the 2017-18 season when Lionel Messi and Co. scored the same number of goals. Before the Messi era, the club had achieved the feat only once back in the 1959-60 campaign.
