India C's dominant day is headlined by Ishan Kishan's tons.
At the close of Day 1 of the second round of the Duleep Trophy between India C and India B at the Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur, Ishan Kishan's 111 off just 126 deliveries made sure that India C finished the day at 357 for 5 at stumps. With a score of 78, Baba Indrajith helped India C surpass 300 runs. For the third wicket, the two batsmen put together a partnership of 189 runs. By the end of the day's play, India B was able to hold back the batting side thanks to Mukesh Kumar's 3 for 76.
India B's captain Ruturaj Gaikwad struck a boundary off Mukesh Kumar's opening ball when put in to bat.
But a ball later, Gaikwad reportedly retired hurt after he attempted to take a single and twisted his ankle. For the first wicket, Rajat Patidar and Sai Sudharsan combined for 92 runs. However, within one over of each other's expulsion, both batters left the game. Navdeep Saini bowled Patidar first at forty, and then Saini caught Sudharsan off Mukesh for forty-three.
The bowlers were then frustrated by Kishan and Indrajith's partnership, which lasted for more over 40 overs. Particularly Kishan put up a display, scoring three maximums and fourteen boundaries.
After Mukesh eventually trapped Kishan, Rahul Chahar, a legspinner, bowled Indrajith six overs later. When Gaikwad returned to bat at the fall of Kishan's wicket, having sustained an injury at the beginning of play, it was encouraging to see. On 42 balls out of just 44 deliveries, he was undefeated.
