Germany vs. the Netherlands:
Holy crap, the Dutch score right away

Germany is playing well again, but will that be enough to defeat anyone respectable? Well, that would certainly allay any qualms if they win against the Netherlands tonight.

When Germany and the Netherlands play in the Nations League on Tuesday in Amsterdam, coach Julian Nagelsmann warned his players to be cautious of a team "with an extreme amount of talent."

It appears that Julian Nagelsmann has figured out the secret, which entails minimizing the impact of Bayern Munich on his team. Although Joshua Kimmich remains captain and Jamal Musiala is still there, the team's current roster of two starters and four players is very different from the one that won the World Cup in 2014.

However, no one will be complaining if the strong performances from this "new era" persist. The Germans were genuinely good for a very long time ago.

In case you missed it, executives and supporters of Bayern Munich are furious that Jamal Musiala was left out of France Football's top 30 for the Ballon d'Or. We discussed why it's so important in our most recent podcast episode, along with Florian Wirtz vs. Paul Wanner and who Bayern Munich should pick first. You may listen to it on Spotify or below.

The Dutch are one of Germany's fiercest football opponents; they were defeated by England in the Euro 2024 semifinals. In the 1974 World Cup final, the Netherlands were defeated by the underdog Germany.

The Dutch won the tournament in 1988 after defeating West Germany in the semi-finals at home.
