Qatar's Doha: Felix Sanchez, the head coach of Al Sadd, said Wednesday that the AFC Champions League Elite matchup with Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al Hilal will be difficult. The Qatari football powerhouses will try to defeat the visitors in their most difficult League match to date in the matchday five match, which will be played at Al Sadd's home field at the packed Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. Sanchez stated during a pre-game news conference yesterday that his team's performance against the high-flying Al Hilal team will be boosted by playing in front of the home crowd.
Al Hilal, who finished in third place, will be a difficult opponent for us. We are motivated to give our best performances when we play in front of our fans and at home. We're going to give this game all we've got," Sanchez said. Al Sadd is currently in fourth position in the 12-team West Zone rankings of the Asian League with eight points. Al Hilal, the Saudi Pro League winners, now lead with 12 points, nonetheless. "High-stakes games against clubs of Al Hilal's ability will help Al Sadd's development," Sanchez said. "We anticipate these types of contests. The players are ready and excited to perform. We want to win this difficult game," Sanchez said.
Star Ruben Neves will not play for Al Hilal, while Neymar and Malcom are questionable, although Sanchez downplayed worries over their absences. Absences affect all teams. The Spaniard stated, "We are concentrating on our strengths and preparedness to deliver a top performance." Despite Al Hilal's advantages, Al Sadd defender Boualem Khoukhi said the squad remains hopeful. "Al Hilal is a strong team, but we're committed to winning the three points." "I hope our supporters will be present to cheer us on," the Qatari player remarked. "We are aware of the significance of this game and have prepared properly. In reference to the team's most recent 5-2 victory over Al Khor in the QSL, Boualem continued, "The recent league win has given us great motivation."
Despite not having enough time to prepare for the match, Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus stated that his squad is prepared. There was not enough time between games—two days counting travel—so our team began training for the game right after our Saudi League encounter. But we'll approach Al Sadd in the same manner as before. We naturally want to win, and we have faith in the players and their skills," Jesus stated. "We are attempting to take advantage of the best circumstances at our disposal. We are ready, but I don't want to reiterate that there isn't enough time for preparedness," Jesus said.
