On Wednesday night in Serbia, Hansi Flick's team dominated Crvena Zvezda thanks to the defender's incredible hat-trick of assists.
Barcelona's dominating performance against Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday night saw them put five goals ahead of their Serbian rivals in a Champions League hammering that ended in a 5-2 victory.
Within three minutes, Zvezda had the ball in the net, but VAR disallowed the goal for a very clear offside. A little more than ten minutes later, Inigo Martinez headed in Raphinha's incredible throw to give Barcelona the lead. However, Zvezda equalized in spectacular fashion in minute 26. With a wonderful finish, Silas chipped Inaki Pena after being put past Barca's backline.
Barca regained their lead only two minutes before halftime. Robert Lewandowski utilized his poacher's instinct to finish from close range after Raphinha's attempt struck the post. Lewandowski was discovered in the area after the restart, giving him an opportunity to end the game, but he spectacularly missed the mark with a blazing shot. After Jules Kounde's cross, he made amends a few seconds later by finishing close in once again.
Raphinha's deft, low strike from the outside of the box after another Kounde cross completed Barca's early second-half assault. Fermin Lopez scored his third assist of the game, a superb Kounde cut-back, in minute 76, following his appearance as a replacement. Felicio Milson's incredible curling attempt from just inside the box gave Crvena time to bring a goal back, but it was only a small comfort.
