Following the postponement of the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool due to Storm Darragh's devastation, Manchester United provides an update on their match against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

 

As Storm Darragh causes chaos, Manchester United has provided an update on whether their Premier League matchup versus Nottingham Forest will proceed.

 

United has announced that their Saturday night match against Forest at Old Trafford is still set to take place, despite Everton's Merseyside derby match against Liverpool being postponed due to unfavorable weather. The same is true for Crystal Palace's matchup with Manchester City at Selhurst Park in the afternoon.

"Today's Premier League match between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford is scheduled to proceed as planned," tweeted United's Matchday X account. Throughout the day, the club will be in touch with the appropriate authorities, and if anything changes, supporters will be informed right away. This match will not count against the minimum number of games a season that season tickets must be utilized for, as we recognize that weather-related cancellations will cause fan travel to be delayed."

"Today's match at Selhurst Park is scheduled to proceed as planned," Palace tweeted. We encourage all fans to make travel plans ahead of time and use caution when heading to and from the stadium."

Millions of people have been warned by the Met Office to stay indoors as the United Kingdom gets battered by gusts of up to 90 mph on Saturday. While Manchester and London, the locations of the aforementioned matches, are under lesser yellow alerts for severe winds, a rare "danger to life" red warning was in force in the western areas of England.

Premier League 13th-place United will meet seventh-place Forest at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, while fourth-from-bottom Palace will play the reigning champions City at 3 p.m.
