Real Madrid Vs Getafe

Player evaluations for Real Madrid vs. Getafe: Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham overcame subpar showings at Anfield to overtake the fading La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe both scored as Real Madrid downed a determined Getafe 2-0 on Sunday, ending their prior troubles.

After a dismal Champions League performance in the middle of the week, the pair recovered their attacking rhythm and both scored in the first half of Madrid's ultimately easy victory, which pulled them within one point of La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Early on, Los Blancos had trouble creating, and their offensive edge was somewhat limited by Vinicius Jr.'s absence. However, a foolish defensive move gave them the lead when Antonio Rudiger was pulled down in the box prior to a Madrid corner. Bellingham rolled home the subsequent penalty after the referee indicated the spot.

After some excellent set-up play by Bellingham, Mbappe curled a fantastic attempt in off the post to score the second just before halftime.

After the interval, Getafe provided some further ideas, putting Thibaut Courtois to the test a few times before John Patrick and Chrisantus Uche both rattled the post.

Nothing exactly came off, though. Madrid had the opportunity to make it three or four, but missed shots by Rodrygo and Mbappe kept the score tight. But ultimately, two was sufficient.
